KN90

Galvonometer

The KN90 ‘Edspot’ Galvanometer has become the most widely used light beam galvanometer in Physics teaching around the world today. It is a general purpose instrument and can be supplied with a range of optional accessories for various applications. This traditional and fundamental instrument gives the advantage of high voltage sensitivity and immunity to stray hum pick up. The galvanometer is designed to be self contained being mains powered and extremely robust, with guaranteed protection against electrical overload. It has a double reflecting optical system and has 180mm scale length. There are six position range switches which give reduced sensitivities at constant impedance, together with Direct (free swing) and Short (heavy damping for transit). Sensitivities on the Edspot reduce by factors of 10. KN90A converts the instrument to a microammeter. KN90B provides an accurate voltage range. KN90C is a high value limiting resistor for Van de Graaff and similar experiments.
